Games for Change

Ayiti: The Cost of Life is a game that challenges its players to manage a rural family of five in Haiti over four years and keep them healthy, get them educated, and help them survive.

Games for change are games that have been designed to initiate discussion and thought. These could be political, environmental, economical, or for public health.

The games on there own are good, however teamed with discussion and debate offer powerful learning tools that can reach students.

They offer another point of view

A way to "experience" or simulate what life might be like when...

Games for Change website is a site that hosts these games.  Most of the games are online and ready to play.  I wouldn't send my students to the site, but I would select games from here to play to direct them to for discussion.  Many of these games are targeted to students much older than ours.
